About
Welcome to Mini Retirement Travel!
This blog was started to share my thoughts, ideas and insights on mini-retirements and how to travel during that time off. As you know, taking an extended break from the work force is still looked down upon in some circles. The goal is to create a place where readers can connect with the content, learn something new and explore ideas without judgement.
Why This Blog Exists
If you found this website, then you probably have had most or all of these thoughts:
- I am tired of my job and feeling burned out.
- I need a break from my boss, my colleagues and/or corporate politics.
- I don’t know what I want to do for my career, but this is not it.
- I know what I want to do for my career, and this is not it.
- I need a break from my job, but I don’t know how to do it.
- I want a career change and would love to travel before I transition.
- I would love to quit my job and travel for a while, but how can I afford that.
The corporate world is a daily grind and burn out is common. It has happened to so many of us and I wanted to create a space where the reader can find inspiration, solutions, or simply escape into something thought-provoking.

A Little About Me
My name is Trav Miret. Yes, it’s a pseudonym derived from mini-retirement travel. I figure writing about needing a mini-retirement to escape corporate life isn’t something an employer wants to see when you return and are looking for a job.
I am burned out from my corporate job and am taking a mini-retirement. I will be traveling to many different countries over the next several months before I change careers. I want to provide information, express my thoughts, and share my experiences with readers.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy your time here. Feel free to reach out through the contact page if you’d like to get in touch or share your thoughts!
